All referrals are seen quickly and cared for by clinicians and nurses with advanced qualifications and a commitment to lifelong learning. We provide specialist-led veterinary dentistry and oral surgery services for dogs and cats, working in close collaboration with primary care veterinary practices. Our clinic is based in Brighton, East Sussex, and accepts patients by veterinary referral.
All patients are seen following referral from their usual veterinary practice
We do not replace your primary care veterinary surgeon and aim to support continuity of care by providing detailed reports and treatment recommendations, with ongoing care returned to the referring practice whenever appropriate.
We do not provide first-opinion or routine primary care services.
Specialist-led dental and oral surgery care for dogs and cats
Dental and oral conditions can cause significant pain and may affect a pet’s overall health and wellbeing. We provide assessment and treatment for a range of dental, oral, and maxillofacial conditions, including both routine dental procedures and more complex referral cases, where referral is considered appropriate by the primary care veterinary surgeon.
All cases are managed using evidence-based techniques and modern equipment to support safe and effective treatment. Where indicated, we work in collaboration with veterinary anaesthetists to support appropriate anaesthetic planning and monitoring for individual patients.
Services
We accept referrals for the diagnosis and treatment of a range of dental and oral conditions in dogs, cats and zoo animals. Services are provided following referral from a primary care veterinary surgeon and are tailored to the individual patient. In addition, we are happy to provide Continuing Education (in-house CPD), Freelance Consultancy, Free Case Advice and Teleradiology Services.
Referral suitability is always assessed on an individual basis.
We support continuity of care by working closely with referring veterinary practices. Treatment plans, findings, and outcomes are communicated clearly, with written reports provided following assessment and treatment.
Zoo dentistry
Dr Rachel Perry provides specialist veterinary dental services across a wide range of zoological species, supporting collections, wildlife centres and private facilities.

Some dental and oral conditions benefit from specialised assessment due to their complexity, surgical requirements, or associated risks. Referral allows access to advanced training, equipment, and experience while maintaining your pet’s ongoing relationship with your usual veterinary practice.

Our clinic is led by Rachel Perry, an RCVS and EBVS® Recognised Specialist in Veterinary Dentistry, supported by a small, experienced clinical team.

Our clinic and advanced dental facilities
We currently see patients in Brighton, East Sussex at Brighton Veterinary Clinic, an independent primary care veterinary practice.
The clinic is equipped to support advanced dental diagnostics and dental and oral surgical procedures, including intraoral dental radiography, dedicated dental operating facilities, and advanced anaesthetic equipment.
All procedures are carried out with a strong focus on patient safety, appropriate anaesthetic planning and monitoring, effective pain management, and the use of patient warming equipment to support patient care. Where clinically indicated, we work in collaboration with veterinary anaesthetists to ensure the safest possible anaesthesia for your pet.
How to request a referral
Pet owners should contact their usual veterinary practice to discuss a referral. Referring veterinary surgeons can easily submit cases directly using our referral form.
