Meet the team

I qualified as a veterinary surgeon in 2011 after six years of study at the University of Bristol. During this time, I also gained an intercalated degree in Veterinary Pathogenesis (a comparative study of disease in humans and animals) with modules focusing on the development of teeth. After graduating I moved to Australia to undertake a rotating internship at a busy referral hospital in Brisbane. It was here that my love of oral surgery began, working alongside specialist cancer surgeons for dogs and cats with a particular interest in tumours of the mouth. I also had the opportunity to work with some of Australia’s unique native species, in particular koalas in collaboration with Australia Zoo.

In 2012 I returned to the UK to work at the Royal Veterinary College, teaching final year veterinary students the practical skills they would require to flourish in their careers. In 2016 I passed the Small Animal Surgery membership examinations of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists. Other than a year sabbatical where I completed a further internship in orthopaedic surgery, I remained at the university until 2022. Towards the end of this time, I began to take on the majority of the dentistry cases seen at the hospital and in the rehoming centres I was teaching in. Veterinary students always have lots of questions, and this spurred me on to learn as much as I could to answer them! In doing so I discovered a love of teeth, and the rewards of giving my patients comfortable and healthy mouths.

I began to dedicate my career to oral surgery and dentistry, moving to a busy general practice in Brighton that needed a vet with an interest in dentistry. In 2024 I gained the general practice certificate in small animal dentistry and oral surgery, followed by the general practice advanced certificate in small animal dentistry and oral surgery the following year. These qualifications and the training involved gave me the confidence to take on more challenging cases and accept referrals from other local practices.

 Outside of work I enjoy travelling, live music events, and circus training. I share my life with Jacques, a demanding but impossibly handsome Burmese cat, who remains intolerant to my attempts to brush his teeth.

I am thrilled to be working at OralVet Referrals alongside Rachel who has been an inspiration and one of my mentors since starting my further training in veterinary dentistry and oral surgery, and I look forward to working alongside the referring vets, animal guardians, and pets that I will have the privilege to care for.

I am a veterinary administrator, with over 30 years’ experience supporting vets, nurses, clients and their pets in a variety of roles, including: Nursing Assistant, Receptionist, and Referrals Administrator at a busy Veterinary Hospital on the South Coast.

In 1989 I followed my passion to work with animals and left home in the Highlands of Scotland to work as a veterinary nursing assistant in London.I really enjoyed supporting the practice and liaising with clients and their pets, and worked as the practice receptionist handling client enquiries and booking appointments.
My administrative roles since then have also included processing claims at Petplan pet insurance, providing administrative support to an animal health team at DEFRA’s surveillance laboratory in Surrey, and managing specialist referral appointments at a busy 24-hour veterinary hospital.

I have worked with Rachel for over 10 years.

I’m lucky to share my life with Noodles, a gorgeous little Terrier.

Sarah will contact you once a referral is received arrange initial appointments, answer any logistical questions, and contact you after treatment to ensure you are happy with your pet’s recovery.

Together, the team provides administrative, clinical, nursing, and peri-operative support to ensure patient welfare and continuity of care.

Registered Veterinary Nurse

I have worked in the veterinary industry since 2017, starting as a receptionist, then moved into a nursing assistant role. I gained my diploma in veterinary nursing in 2024, working in a busy hospital, where I found my passion for anaesthesia, analgesia, emergency critical care and dentistry. I hope to soon further my knowledge by gaining certificates in these areas. I strive to provide my patients with the best possible care and experience and enjoy monitoring their recovery and rehabilitation after life-changing procedures.

Outside of work, I enjoy playing hockey and walking my Cocker Spaniel in the countryside.

Diego qualified as a veterinary surgeon from the University of Buenos Aires in 2004 and moved to the UK shortly afterwards. He completed a three-year residency in Anaesthesia and Analgesia at the Royal Veterinary College in 2015, alongside a Master’s degree in Veterinary Medicine.

Following his residency, Diego has worked in several leading veterinary referral centres across the UK, gaining extensive experience in the anaesthetic management of complex cases. He has a broad interest in all aspects of anaesthesia and analgesia, with a particular focus in recent years on integrating acupuncture to support and enhance patient care.
